One day in my studio I was perusing YouTube for a video to embed in my blog when my 4-year-old daughter skipped in.
“DADDY! LOOK AT THE KITTY! OOH!”
Sure enough on the right side of the screen there was a thumbnail for a kitten video (is there a page on YouTube without kittens?).
“Uh huh,” I said, “it's a video about a kitten. OK, Dad's gotta get back to work, honey. Scoot alo…”
“OH DAD! CAN I SEE THE KITTY VIDEO? PLEASE?! PLEEEEASSSE! I LOVE KITTIES!”
“Um, OK,” I said, “but you need to go pick up your toys in the family room first.”
Seconds later, the family room was spotless and my daughter and I were watching kitten videos while she squealed with delight. So later that day when I needed to do a cartoon about rewarding employees for training performance, the above gag wasn't far behind.
