Mindflash Expands Platform For Online Training and Collaboration

— by mindflash

New Features Simplify Knowledge Sharing, Employee Learning

Palo Alto, Calif., February 23, 2011 – Mindflash.com, a leading cloud platform for online training and collaboration, today unveiled an expansion to its award-winning product offering. New features include the ability to connect to external training materials on the web, and increased services for larger organizations. Since launch in September 2010, the Mindflash web training platform has been updated monthly to meet the growing collaboration needs of diverse businesses worldwide. In the five months since launch, trainees have already completed more than 15,000 courses using the Mindflash platform.

“Organizations are increasingly looking to the cloud for collaboration tools that simplify their operations,” said Mindflash CEO Donna Wells. “Mindflash solves a problem that all businesses face: how to efficiently and affordably train and share information with employees. We've seen terrific acceptance of our product across companies of all sizes and high-level industry recognition, being named one of 2010's Top SMB Tech Tools by ReadWriteWeb.”

Mindflash's expanded connectivity and productivity features reduce the time it takes for trainers to build and maintain great training courses, and make millions of entertaining and educational videos available to every trainer for free.

Using the Mindflash platform, every trainer now has the ability to:

  • Incorporate content from any Internet or intranet web page within a course, seamlessly. With active links to any web content now supported, trainers can easily include compelling content such as Wikipedia listings and Qwiki videos. Trainers can also link to internal company intranet pages displaying the most current forms, contact or pricing information.
  • Insert YouTube – hosted videos in courses, allowing trainers access to a global library of inspirational, educational and entertaining content, reducing the time and expense of in-house video production.
  • Provide documentation of course completion. Certificates are now available for trainees to download and print after they've passed a course.
  • Add supplemental materials to any course, by uploading any document as a handout that trainees can download, print and review as needed.

Mindflash has also added features which make it much more efficient to manage larger training programs, in response to strong demand from larger companies already using the training and collaboration platform. These include:

  • Enroll all trainees in a department, functional group or geographic region with a single invitation, using the new Groups of Trainees feature.
  • Enroll any trainee in multiple courses, with one invitation. Most commonly used to invite a new employee into series of onboarding or orientation courses.
  • Analyze and produce management reports on trainee progress and quiz scores by department, function, geography, etc. making it easy to document the effectiveness and speed of training on the Mindflash platform.
  • Increased capacity – Mindflash now supports up to 1,000 trainees, 200 courses, and 5 trainers in a single account.

“Before Mindflash, we were struggling with how much time we spent training new hires,” said Gary Donson, Web Development and Training Director at Bella Luna Services, Inc.“Mindflash has allowed us to eliminate 80% of the time we were spending training new hires AND given us the ability to update our training materials on the fly. As a cloud solution, Mindflash will be an integral part of our future expansion as we hire outside of our local market.”
