Using an Online LMS Saved Alegeus Time and Improved Training Quality

Alegeus Technologies is the leading provider of employer benefits administration software. They have 550+ employees across offices in Boston, Milwaukee, and Orlando. Alegeus moved both internal and external training to Mindflash in 2015. The flexibility and functionality of our online LMS benefited their training program immensely. We went with Mindflash because it’s straightforward, easy to use, and was perfect for me as a single trainer needing to build detailed courses for different training groups.

Situation

Before implementing Mindflash, Alegeus provided software training for both new employees and customers using webinars. The lack of a learning management system (LMS) presented the following challenges:

Creating content was time-consuming and complicated for Alegeus trainer Hesh Shorey. He had to figure out how to effectively present the information within the allotted webinar time.
Many webinar registrants wouldn’t end up attending. And the ones who did attend were likely interrupted at some point by email, chat, or other work responsibilities.
Recordings were made available after webinars but due to the density of the lessons and workplace distractions, Hesh suspected trainees were only retaining a portion of what he presented.
The webinar training was all video-based. There were no PDFs, Word docs, or other supporting documents that catered to people with other learning styles.

Solution

Alegeus moved both internal and external training to Mindflash in 2015. The flexibility and functionality of our online LMS benefits their training program in the following ways:

It takes Hesh a couple of hours to build a dynamic course in Mindflash. He can easily upload a PowerPoint deck, recorded video, PDFs, and other training materials.
Hesh breaks complicated concepts into separate modules that each focus on a single learning objective, helping trainees process and retain the information presented.
Trainees go through courses in Mindflash when and where they please. They can pause lessons when something comes up and pick up where they left off when they can give it their full attention again.
Trainees use Mindflash alongside a beta version of the Alegeus software, helping them learn by doing, at their own pace.

Results

Alegeus has created other courses in Mindflash outside of product training. Hesh’s colleagues are often surprised he can create a course the same day they request it.

Managers access Mindflash to monitor employees’ progress and generate reports that help them measure the effectiveness of training on their team.

Other LMSs Alegeus considered required extensive set up. Since Mindflash lives in the cloud, it was ready for Hesh and team to use on day one.
